5/6/06
We had a busy week. Harvested Monday early in the AM.
It was raining and blowing steady out of the northeast.
As the tide changed the wind freshened as it often does
so that by the time we got off the flats it was
howling. The order was bigger than we had anticipated
so B. and I had to sneak out on the evening tide at
about seven to grab three more bushels. It was really
blowing but only a light drizzle was coming down and the
wind out of the northeast was warm. The warmth of the
wind and the light at 7 makes you realize that spring
really is here despite the fact that surrounded by cold
water on the Cape it often feels like we go from winter
straight into summer. Here are some shots of our
harvest on Thursday. A little wind out of the north
still but high pressure and a beautiful day. Mike, (Mr.
December) is here to help Meg, Barb and I dig again when
he is not acting or doing set design.
